About us
To understand the origins and values of TALAKII, we have to start by explaining the origin of our products and artisans.
In the La Guajira Peninsula, located in the northeastern zone of Colombia bordering Venezuela, inhabit the Wayúu indigenous communities of structure Matriarchal, who have inherited from generation to generation the ancestral techniques of Wayúu weaving.
Starting from the base of the respect and pride of this unique art in the world, the TALAKII project was born from the hand of its founders, Sebastián and Felipe.
For his part Sebastian, multicultural with a Spanish father and Colombian mother and raised in Barcelona, joins his roots by focusing TALAKII on the customs of the European market.
Philip, an engineer by training and traveler by nature, works in tandem from Colombia to ensure one of our values, Fair Trade dealing directly with the best artisans without intermediaries and with the best quality in the sector.
With this base, is born TALAKII with headquarters and design team in Barcelona and production in Colombia made by hand by various Wayú communities, up to 400 different artisans and artisans.
Our bases are clear:
-
Fair trade and exaltation of the Wayúu matriarchal culture.
Without intermediaries, preserving and promoting the art of these Latin American communities where women have the leadership of the communities.
-
Responsibility.
At TALAKII we are committed to the premises of caring for the environment and craftsmanship. We promote art made by hand, without exploitation by third parties and without factories behind that pollute rivers and CO2 emissions.
-
Maximum quality in our handmade products.
We take care of raw materials, our artisans, transport and details of the bag for customer satisfaction.
-
Equality.
In TALAKII everyone has a voice. From our team, artisans and clients.
Welcome to the TALAKII community.
